Services and Activities at The Lossie Community Hub
At The Lossie Community Hub, we’re here to support individuals and families with a wide range of services and activities. Our team – Louise McBride (Community Development Officer), Catherine McTaggert (Family Liaison Officer), other staff members who work alongside our fantastic team of volunteers, who give their time, skills, and energy to make everything we do possible.
We know that social isolation can affect people of all ages, so our hub is designed to be a safe, welcoming space where you can connect, share, and feel part of the community.
What We Offer
- Digital Support – help with technology, devices, and getting online
- Benefits & Form Filling Support – guidance with applications and entitlements
- Community Food Larder, Fridge & Freezer – access to good food for those who need it
- Warm Coats & School Bank Rails – providing jackets in winter and school essentials year-round
- Cooking on a Budget & Family Cooking Sessions – practical skills for healthy, affordable meals
- Budgeting Skills – tips and advice to manage money with confidence
- Family Emotional Coaching & Support – guidance for stronger family wellbeing
- Community Support & Signposting – walking alongside individuals until the right help is in place
- Advocacy & Meeting Support – someone by your side when you need it most
- Mental Health Group – a safe and supportive space to share and connect
- Sewing Group – learn, create, and make friends
- Community Soup & Sweet – enjoy a warm meal with neighbours at Lossie Football Social Club
- Art & Wellbeing Sessions – creativity for relaxation and connection every Tuesday 12.30-2.30pm in the Social Space
- PEEP & Baby Sign – playful learning and communication for little ones
- Bubs Babies – advice, support, breastfeeding information, and peer connection
- Purl & Patter – knitting & crochet every Friday 9.30-11am
- Community Cafe – games & chat
Volunteering Opportunities
We also offer volunteer roles at the hub. Volunteering is a great way to build confidence, self-esteem, and skills, while making a real difference in your community. Many of our activities are led and supported by volunteers, helping to bring people together and reduce social isolation.
Together, with our staff and volunteers, The Lossie Community Hub is a place where everyone – from babies to older adults – can find support, friendship, and opportunities to thrive.
