Yvonne Murray

Yvonne has a strong background in health and social care and has dedicated many years to volunteering with various charities. Through these experiences, she has actively supported different causes by applying and expanding the skills she has developed over time. Yvonne stays up to date with all regulations relating to nursery-aged children and is committed to maintaining high standards of care and safety. She regularly shares her knowledge of first aid and trainingwith staff and volunteers, ensuring that everyone is confident and competent in their roles.
Yvonne has played a key role in ensuring that the renovation work remained on track – from liaising with the architects during the early planning stages to overseeing the successful completion of the final project.

Yvonne has been an excellent Chairperson over the past three years, providing strong leadership and dedication throughout. Due to increasing work commitments, she has now stepped into the Vice Chair role, allowing her to continue playing an active part in bringing the shared vision to life and seeing the dream become a reality.

Nicola Thomson

Nicola is a retired Bank Manager who joined the Group during Covid. This was a time when the Group was searching for premises and ways to make their vision a reality.
Nicola’s experience in a community-focused work environment inspired her to support others in similar projects to life and join a fantastic group.
Currently, Nicola serves as the Chairperson.
She assists the group by preparing their annual budgets, supports Louise with ideas and their implementation, and manages all administrative tasks for the Lossie 2-3 Group.

Sandra Scott

Sandra was one of the first volunteers to join Louise in her vision of creating a place to bring the community together.  Sandra is well known around the town from her years working at the Community Centre. She has worked tirelessly year after year, running the Charity Shop and consistently selling items online to fundraise for the group, thereby bringing her vision to life.
Sandra has various roles within the group, so as well as being the fundraising queen, she is also our treasurer who ensures our book-keeping is carried out for the auditors.
And her final role is assisting  with soup and sweet every Thursday in the Football Club.

Wendy Wright

As a wheelchair user, I am limited in where I can physically go. When a wheelchair platform lift was installed at the Community Hub, I was intrigued to learn more about the group that had taken such a proactive step toward inclusion. The more I discovered about their work in the community, the more pleased I was to join the Board, where I now assist with some of the administrative tasks.

Gina McNicoll

Gina has been a dedicated volunteer and board member over the years, consistently putting her heart into the projects she supports. As a retired teacher, she brings valuable experience in childcare, and her role on the Lossiemouth Community Council allows her to share her expertise across a wide range of community groups.
Gina is currently serving as secretary and also leading the team of volunteers for the  Soup and Sweet event serving up to 100 members of the community weekly.

Alison Kellas

Alison joined the board in the early stages of the search for premises, bringing valuable experience from running her own business in the local community. She has since gone on to work with young children in an educational setting.
“Alison draws on her experience to support the group’s fundraising efforts and keeps us informed about developments in the education sector, helping the organisation grow across all areas.

Fiona Marshall

Fiona lives in Elgin and is currently self-employed as a driving instructor. Alongside her business, she has a passion for organising charity music events, supporting a range of national causes.

After seeing the Annual AGM advertised, Fiona was keen to learn more about the Lossiemouth Community Hub and attended out of curiosity. Inspired by the Hub’s work and community spirit, she was delighted to be elected to the Board. Fiona now takes the lead in overseeing and managing the Hub’s website and social media presence.

Looking ahead, Fiona is excited about the opportunity to bring her experience in organising music events to the Hub, helping to support both the organisation and other local charities.

Tracy Robbie

Tracy is a Moray Council Youth Worker based at Elgin High School. She was inspired to join the board as a result of the work she had previously done with Louise at the old Community Centre.
Watching Louise’s commitment to making the community a better place for everyone inspired Tracy to get involved herself, wanting to offer others the same positive experience and support.
Tracy undertakes our Child Protection Officer role for the Group.

Our Staff

Louise McBride

At the heart of The Lossie Community Hub is Louise, our dedicated Community Development Manager — the driving force behind the vision that started it all. It was Louise’s determination, creativity, and compassion that transformed a small toddler group into a registered charity and ultimately into the thriving community hub we know today.

From the very beginning, Louise’s passion and belief in people have inspired others to join her mission. She built a strong board of volunteers who shared her vision and worked tirelessly alongside her to turn dreams into reality.

Louise brings a wealth of life experience and knowledge to her role. As a mother of five, she understands the challenges of balancing family life, work, and personal growth — and continues to inspire others by studying toward a further degree in her spare time.

Her journey began after the birth of her youngest child in 2016, when she personally experienced the impact of isolation. Recognising that many parents felt the same, she started a local toddler group — a welcoming space where families could meet, connect, and support one another. Through these early conversations, Louise became increasingly aware of the lack of community facilities in Lossiemouth, especially following the closure of the town’s original community centre.

Determined to make a lasting difference, and with the backing of local organisations and residents, Louise led the effort to secure charitable status for The Lossie 2–3 Group in 2019 — paving the way for the creation of a new playgroup and family centre that would grow into something much greater.

As an active member of the Lossiemouth Community Council, Louise also played a key role in coordinating the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Working alongside the Council, local churches, and volunteers, she helped organise essential support for over 400 families, older residents, and vulnerable individuals through food deliveries, shopping vouchers, and wellbeing initiatives.

In recognition of these remarkable efforts,The Lossie 2–3 Group received a Letter of Commendation from the Lord Lieutenant, and Louise was personally honoured for her outstanding service. She was later invited to attend the Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, celebrating organisations and individuals who went above and beyond during the pandemic.

Today, Louise continues to lead with the same warmth, dedication, and vision that started this journey. Her mission remains clear — to reduce isolation, build confidence, and strengthen community connections.

Under her leadership, The Lossie Community Hub has become a thriving, inclusive environment  where everyone feels welcome, supported, and valued.

Catherine McTaggart

Catherine has taken on many roles within the organisation. She first became involved as a volunteer, attending various groups and activities. Impressed by the organisation’s work ethic and core values, Catherine decided to take her commitment further by becoming a board member. When a new opportunity arose, she applied for and was successfully appointed to the role of Community Family Liaison, where she now serves as a valued employee.

Catherine brings a wealth of knowledge and life experience to her role, drawing on her own journey and experience of raising her children. She works closely with Louise to deliver high-quality, person-centred support to families in need. Catherine provides guidance, resources, and ongoing support to help families navigate challenges and access the services they require.
